New Delhi: Thousands of homebuyers waiting for their Supertech homes have received a fresh sign of progress, with state-owned NBCC floating construction tenders worth Rs 9,620.33 crore to revive 16 stalled residential projects.
The projects cover nearly 50,000 housing units across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. Buyers have faced years of uncertainty, with delayed possession adding to their financial burden and distress.
Tenders For Construction
NBCC said it has issued 25 tenders for construction and related works across the 16 projects. The tender process marks a step towards putting the completion plan into action.
The company announced the development on Tuesday, saying the tenders form part of its efforts to restart work across Supertech’s stalled residential portfolio.
For affected buyers, the announcement offers renewed hope that long-pending homes could move closer to completion. However, floating tenders is one stage of the process and does not mean construction has been completed or possession is immediately available.
Mandate To Complete Projects
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal appointed NBCC as the Project Management Consultant for the projects in December 2024.
That appointment gave the public sector company responsibility for managing their completion. The latest tenders relate to construction and associated work needed to carry the revival plan forward.
NBCC’s role is particularly significant given the scale of the unfinished portfolio, which stretches across four states and involves thousands of households awaiting their homes.
Supreme Court Backing
According to NBCC’s statement, the Supreme Court upheld its mandate in February 2026. The company said this provided legal certainty for implementing the completion plan.
The court’s backing and the subsequent tender announcement represent key developments in the effort to revive the projects.
Relief For Waiting Buyers
The scale of the tender package signals progress for families affected by prolonged delays. Their main concern, however, remains the actual completion and delivery of homes.
The company’s announcement did not specify project-wise completion deadlines or possession dates for the affected homebuyers. The next stages will determine how quickly the plans translate into construction.
