Mumbai: Paytm has rolled out a new Split Bills feature that allows users to easily manage and divide shared expenses with friends, family and travel groups. The feature is designed to make expense tracking simpler for activities such as dining out, shopping, holidays, fuel costs and other group spending.
According to the company, users can create a dedicated group, add expenses and keep track of who has paid and who still owes money—all within the Paytm app.
Multiple Ways To Divide Bills
The new feature gives users several options to split expenses based on their requirements.
Bills can be shared equally among all members, divided by a fixed amount, allocated according to individual shares or split on a percentage basis. This flexibility helps users settle different types of expenses without manual calculations.
The feature is aimed at reducing confusion and making group settlements quicker and more transparent.
Supports UPI, Cash And Card Payments
A key highlight is that users can record payments made through different payment methods in a single group.
Transactions completed via Paytm UPI, other UPI apps, cash or debit and credit cards can all be added to the same expense tracker. The app then shows the outstanding amount each member needs to pay or the amount they are expected to receive.
Users can also send reminders to members with pending payments, making follow-ups easier.
Easy Settlement Within The App
Paytm said pending dues can be settled directly through Paytm UPI. If a payment has already been made outside the app, users can simply mark it as received to keep the records updated.
This helps maintain an accurate expense history and removes the hassle of calculating individual shares after trips, parties or other group events.
How Users Can Access The Feature
The Split Bills option is available under the ‘Pay Anyone’ section of the Paytm app.
Users need to create a new group, enter expense details and choose how the total amount should be divided among members. The company said the feature is completely free to use and there is no limit on the number of expense entries that can be added.
