New Delhi: IT major HCLTech reported a 21.18 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 5,132 crore for the July-September quarter of FY27, supported by strong artificial intelligence (AI) business growth, improved operating margins and lower tax expenses.
Revenue from operations increased 11.5 per cent to Rs 35,620 crore from Rs 31,942 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net profit stood at Rs 4,235 crore in Q2 FY26.
Profit And Revenue Improve Sequentially
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, HCLTech’s net profit rose 11 per cent, while revenue increased 3 percent.

The company’s EBIT margin improved to 18.2 per cent from 16.9 per cent in the June quarter, reflecting higher-margin AI services and operational efficiencies.
Tax expenses declined to Rs 1,335 crore from Rs 1,466 crore a year earlier, further supporting profitability.
AI Business Drives Growth
Advanced AI revenue surged 78 per cent year-on-year and 28.4 per cent sequentially in constant currency to USD 219 million.
The business, covering AI advisory, agentic AI and physical AI solutions, achieved an annualised revenue run rate of USD 876 million.
CEO and MD C Vijayakumar said strong AI demand and internal productivity improvements helped offset pricing pressure in traditional IT services.
New deal bookings reached USD 3.26 billion, up 27 per cent year-on-year, marking the company’s second-highest quarterly bookings.
FY27 Revenue Guidance Narrowed
HCLTech revised its FY27 constant currency revenue growth guidance to 2.5-4 per cent from the earlier 1-4 per cent range.
Vijayakumar said the outlook reflected healthy bookings and improving demand, although global business conditions remained uncertain.
The services business recorded 4 per cent year-on-year growth in constant currency, while HCLSoftware revenue declined 11.2 per cent.
Retail and consumer goods revenue grew 14 per cent, while financial services expanded 7.1 percent.
Geographically, India registered 21.8 per cent growth and the US expanded 3.5 per cent, while Europe declined marginally.
Hiring Recovers, Dividend Announced
HCLTech added 6,450 employees during the quarter, taking its total workforce to 2,30,339.
The additions included 6,136 freshers, reversing the previous quarter’s workforce decline of 3,292 employees. Attrition stood at 12.8 per cent.
The company expects to recruit approximately 10,000 freshers during FY27, while annual salary increases will take effect from October.
HCLTech also indicated that the US suspension of certain labour certification applications would not materially affect its workforce plans.
The board declared an interim dividend of Rs 12 per share, with October 16 fixed as the record date.
