Mumbai: Navi Mumbai-based FMCG company Melting Pot Food Products has brought celebrity chef and restaurateur Harpal Singh Sokhi on board as an investor and brand ambassador for its flagship brand Inchi, as it looks to accelerate growth in India’s Indo-Chinese food segment.
The partnership is expected to support the company’s expansion plans, with Melting Pot aiming to scale its business beyond Rs 500 crore over the next five years while strengthening Inchi’s reach across the country.
Chef Sokhi Takes Strategic Role
The association goes beyond a conventional celebrity endorsement. Sokhi will work with the company as a culinary partner, contributing to product innovation, recipe development and initiatives designed to make restaurant-style Indo-Chinese food easier to prepare at home.
Sokhi said his decision to invest was driven by his belief in the company’s vision and the opportunity to combine his culinary expertise with Melting Pot’s understanding of evolving consumer preferences.
Company Plans Wider Expansion
Founded in 2017, Melting Pot Food Products is led by directors Nikhil Bharati, R P Chatterjee and Manish Pardiwala. According to the company, each director brings more than two decades of experience in India’s FMCG industry and the Indo-Chinese food category.
Bharati said Inchi had reached an important stage in its growth journey and required a recognised personality who understood the category and shared the company’s long-term ambitions.
Inchi Portfolio Tops 100 Products
Inchi currently offers more than 100 products spanning schezwan dips and spreads, noodles, sauces, gourmet soups, instant soups and cooking masalas.
The portfolio is designed for consumers seeking convenient ways to recreate popular restaurant-style Indian-Chinese dishes at home.
